AAROH started the Navkiran project in the 1995, as an integrated centre for providing Early Intervention Diagnostic and Therapeutic services to children with special needs. Other therapeutic services like Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech therapy, Dance therapy, Yoga are also given to children and young adults as part of our OPD services.

Navkiran seeks to provide complete, holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and management of infants and toddlers with the aim of improving the quality of life and attaining the highest level of functioning possible.

Early Intervention Diagnostic Services :-

Navkiran’s Early Intervention Diagnostic services are aimed at reducing the development delays or deficit in small children and toddlers. The essential thought is that these deficits can be reduced by training children in activities to promote development and learning new skills which might not occur by itself or naturally in children with developmental delays. Developmental delay or disability can be due to a variety of factors. It can affect Physical, Cognitive, Communicative, Social, emotional or Adaptive delays. Established early intervention programmes that assess, recommend and begin treatment have proven to improve IQ and functioning level.

Navkiran’s Early Intervention Programme is developed and designed keeping in mind the need for handling children with different types of developmental delays besides mentally challenged, without labelling them so, and at the same time treating each child as a unique one.

At the onset, a detailed assessment is done in respect of each new case by a team comprising of Psychologist, Doctor, Speech and Occupational Therapists, Special Educator and Parents. This is required for preparation of the Child-focused educational programme, which are based on the potential, aptitude and limitations of the beneficiary, and for laying down specific programmes for his/her development. Various facilities like Speech, Language and Occupational therapy programmes are being provided by using computer software, audio-visual facilities and Sensory integration equipment with latest technology are being used on regular basis.

Therapeutic & Remedial Services :-

Various therapeutic services like Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech therapy, Dance therapy, Music therapy, Yoga are provided as per needs & requirement to overcome any shortcomings of these special individuals. The therapy is also given as part of our OPD services to the general public who need these type of services. A holistic approach is taken whereby complete 360-degree progress can be achieved.

A Speech-Language therapist may address the mechanics of speaking, as well as the social rules surrounding the use of verbal language. Modes of communication, which are considered verbal language and may be taught by the therapist include, speaking with the voice, using signs and gestures, using a picture exchange system, or a combination of these.

Music Therapy :-

Music can benefit children with Special Needs. Musical education is a great medium for promoting brain development and acquiring skills. Learning to play an instrument helps establish a sense of focus, timing, and rhythm while providing an outlet to express their creativity through music.

Dance Therapy :-

Dance therapy given CWSN the ability to express emotions, acts as a great stress reliever, helps in increased physical fitness and development of gross motor skills. It also helps in improving confidence levels & self-esteem, it also encourages creativity and imagination.

Yoga Therapy :-

Yoga therapy helps in increasing levels of focus & concentration, a sense of calm, stillness and peace within. It enables a child to deal with emotional upsets (self-calming), and provides flexibility to adapt to change. It also helps to cope with various social situations: improved ability to be and connect with others and gives the child a greater sense of self & awareness.

Play Therapy :-

Play, acting as a form of communication, enables the child to express things at their own pace in a way that they can convey without feeling interrogated or threatened. This is called play therapy or therapeutic play; it helps children with disabilities or learning difficulties understand complex feelings and process upsetting events or trauma. The ultimate goal of therapeutic play is optimal growth and development for the child.
